Steve’s Weekend Nachos
A fool proof snack to keep the kid’s hunger at bay.
What You’ll Need
Ingredients:
- 200 gram bag of corn chips
- Shredded cheese
- 200ml sour cream
- 500g minced beef
- One packet of burrito/ taco seasoning
- 300g bottle of tomato salsa
- Olive oil
Utensils:
- Oven and oven tray
- Stove top
- Pan
- Spatula
- Wooden spoon
Serves 4
Method
- Preheat the oven to 200 degrees.
- Drizzle olive oil over a pan and bring to medium heat.
- Add in minced meat and with a wooden spoon, break the meat down into smaller bits. Once brown, add in the burrito seasoning, turn off the heat and set aside.
- Line an oven-safe tray with baking paper or foil.
- Stack layers of corn chips, shredded cheese, and salsa. Once all stacked, heaped the minced beef on top.
- Turn the oven down to 170 degrees and place the tray into the oven. Cook until the cheese is melted, which takes about 8 minutes. Check regularly.
- Once cooked, take the tray out with oven mitts/ tea towel and place it down onto a heat-proof surface.
- Plate up the nachos and add a dollop of sour cream on top.
